Glamour and history

The first Waldorf Astoria was demolished in 1929, for the construction of the Empire State Building on the same grounds.

The present Hotel is located on 301 Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, 47-story – means 190 meters high and is an Art Deco treasure, designed by the outstanding architects Schultze and Weaver, completed in 1931.

The hotel played not only in show business an important role, but also housed countless politicians, celebrities and high society.

The rooms were characterized by particular elegance and great technical progress.

The Waldorf was world famous for its glittering parties and balls in a dignified atmosphere.

More than a year ago, a Chinese investor group took over the house and will convert it into apartments and suites. Everything will be different, the new owners promised.

The guest will certainly be surprised when the magnificent building reopens in 2020.
